But new research has poked sizable holes in that theory.The notion that everyone speaks a ‘love language’ was borne out of a 1992 manual by Baptist pastor Gary Chapman, who pushed the idea that everyone has a primary method of expressing and receiving love.He outlined – words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service, and physical touch - and claimed relationship issues arise when partners speak different languages.
