Kentucky Sen. donned a red jacket and stood before a roaring fire to release his annual 'Festivus Report,' which roasts and catalogues $482 billion in 'government waste' over the years.
Paul put out the report Fridaythat many Republicans slammed as larded with excess spending, although like a nostalgic Christmas playlist, many of the programs Paul highlights are from years gone by.
The bill made it through the Senate chamber Thursday after senators reached a bipartisan deal on a time agreement that allowed it to go through with votes on a series of amendments debated for just two minutes each. Paul didn't follow through on his threat to make a clerk read the entire bill aloud. That allowed lawmakers from both parties to make it home for the holidays as a massive storm approached.
