Rare first-edition copy of US Constitution could fetch up to $30M

A rare first edition copy of the U.S. Constitution is set to go on the auction block for the first time in 125 years and could fetch up to $30 million.

on Tuesday that they are putting a rare, original copy of the historic document, with an estimated value of between $20 million and $30 million, under the hammer at their Manhattan auction house on December 13.

The historic document — which is one of only two known copies that are in private hands and one only 13 copies known to exist — was unveiled by the auction house this week. The other 11 are in public government collections, Sotheby's added.
