The first man to ever descend to the deepest place in the ocean, the Mariana Trench, American Don Walsh, has died aged 92.Walsh was 28 when he made the record-breaking expedition to the bottom of the seven-mile deep trench off the coast of in 1960. He signed up for the mission without knowing just how deep he would have to go, but he stayed the course even when he heard a 'huge bang' in the submersible on his descent.
