Regulators have sounded the alarm over a rise in medical credit cards being pushed by healthcare providers to cover hefty hospital bills.Such plans are offered to patients who have limited access to health insurance or whose insurance won't cover their procedures. They effectively allow a patient to spread the cost of their bills.But experts have urged caution over the plans which often come with high APRs and expensive late fees.
