A retired man who suffers from dementia has confessed to the cold case murder of his girlfriend after nearly 50 years because he 'had to come clean', court documents revealed. Wheelchair-bound Rodney Mervyn Nichols was arrested by deputy US marshals at his retirement home in Hollywood in July and charged with murder. Canadian police linked him to the murder of Jewell Langford who was found floating face down in the Nation River in eastern Ontario on May 3, 1975.
