The annual salary required to afford the average home in the US has risen more than 50 percent in the last two years, a new study has revealed.A homebuyer had to earn $115,000 a year to afford the median-priced home in August, up from $99,000 a year ago and $75,000 the year prior, according to a , which also considered the 100 most populous metro areas separately.Generally, the cities in which homebuyers needed the highest income were in California and parts of the Northeast.
