Ron DeSantis said Tuesday he will formally seek to strip the Walt Disney Co. of its self-governing status after it publicly bashed the Sunshine State’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law.DeSantis, seen as a potential front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, said lawmakers will be “considering termination of all special districts that were announced in Florida prior to 1968 — and that includes the Reedy Creek Improvement District.”That arrangement confers wide-ranging autonomy on the state’s largest employer — including control over local police and fire units.
