Former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said that the Department of Justice's (DOJ) appointment of a special counsel to handle Trump investigations suggest Merrick Garland believes there is a 'viable potential case.' Still, the Trump-era deputy AG who appointed Robert Mueller as special counsel over the Russia investigation said he likely would not have appointed a special counsel in this case. 'I think what it indicates is that, despite the fact that the department has been at this for some time, almost two years on the Jan. 6 investigation, close to a year on the Mar-a-Lago investigation, that they still believe that they have a viable potential case,' Rosenstein told CBS News' Margaret Brennan.
