Vladimir Putin today vowed to 'respond' to Britain's plans to send ammunition to Ukraine that contains depleted uranium as Moscow warned there are 'fewer and fewer steps' to a nuclear collision.The Russian despot said some of the ammunition for the Challenger 2 battle tanks that Britain is sending to Ukraine includes armour piercing rounds which contain depleted uranium.Speaking after talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Putin said the move heralds the West switching to supplying Kyiv with weapons containing nuclear components, adding that Moscow will 'respond' if the UK goes ahead with its delivery of 14 next-generation battle tanks.
