Members of the Commerce Committee are promising to investigate Southwest Airlines as flight cancellations top 10,000 over the holiday week.Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., chair of the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee promised her committee would be probing the causes of the flight delays and cancelations. 'The problems at Southwest Airlines over the last several days go beyond weather. The Committee will be looking into the causes of these disruptions and its impact to consumers,' she said in a statement. 'Many airlines fail to adequately communicate with consumers during flight cancellations. Consumers deserve strong protections, including an updated consumer refund rule.'
