A Colorado dentist accused of poisoning his wife said he had a delivery of potassium cyanide sent to his office at her request because she was suicidal, his murder trial in Arapahoe County heard on Wednesday.
Dr James Craig, 47, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder for the March 2023 death of Angela, 43, a devout Mormon and mother of six, who prosecutors say he viewed as a 'problem' as he began a new affair and struggled with finances.
In shocking courtroom testimony, family friend Michelle Redfearn described how Craig repeatedly changed his story about the contents of a package that arrived at work - first saying it was a ring for his wife, then that she had asked him to order the poison, before claiming the whole episode was ‘a game of chicken’.
