In what could be a historic first, a US space company will attempt to catch a rocket falling back to Earth using a helicopter. The mid-air capture has been tried before, albeit unsuccessfully by in 2004, but if it works it could provide a dramatic advancement in launch capabilities and a new way for rocket launchers to be reused.A hook mounted on a helicopter will be used to latch onto the rocket's parachute as it slows from speeds of 5,000 mph (8,000 kph) to a mere 22 mph (35 kph) above the Pacific Ocean.
