Legendary ocean liner the SS United States is facing eviction from its berth on the River after its landlord in the Port of Philadelphia doubled its rent.Built during the height of transatlantic sea travel in the 1950s as part of a collaboration with the US Navy, but now sits rusting in South Philadelphia.Now the berth's leaseholder, Penn Warehousing and Distribution, is suing the boat's nonprofit owner for around $300,000 over outstanding rent after it refused to accept an increase in dockage fees from $850 to $1,700 a day.
