The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office has accused the police department of a 'serious breach of trust', saying two officers lied about an attempted carjacking of their marked police car at gunpoint.
On March 19, two St. Louis () Police Department officers, who were not identified, claimed a man tried to carjack them in their police car. The officers had responded to reported gunshots near South Tucker Boulevard and Chouteau Avenue around 3am.
They said a man stepped in front of their car as they were moving, before pointing a gun through the passenger window. They also claimed he ran off without taking the car after realizing officers were inside. He was apprehended about a block away in a restaurant parking lot.
