Stanford president resigns after probe found his research had problems

The President of Stanford University Marc Tessier-Lavigne is to resign at the end of this month, after an investigation found flaws in research data he supervised.

The school had previously announced a probe into Tessier-Lavigne, over allegations of scientific misconduct.

Following months of scrutiny, Tessier-Lavigne will resign effective as of August 31 according to a release by the University.
