The Unites States will hear arguments this week on a commonly used abortion pill in a case which could have widespread implications for abortion access across the country. The case looks at actions taken by the Food and Drug Administration relaxing restrictions on the pill mifepristone, which have made the abortion drug easier to obtain across the country.The Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, which is made up of groups of anti-abortion medical professionals, first challenged the approval of mifepristone and subsequent rule changes in November 2022, less than six months after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, returning the question of abortion access to the states.
