The United States should aspire to reach the quarterfinals or beyond at this year's World Cup despite being the second-youngest team in the tournament, according to former national team star Alexi Lalas.Speaking with the , Lalas, now a Fox Sports analyst, argued that expectations in the US are growing, and simply making it out of the group stage is no longer the market of a successful World Cup performance.'Getting out of a group is also not something that we should be screaming yelling from the rooftops,' Lalas said ahead of the United States' World Cup opener against Wales.
