Most of us regularly change our sheets and pillowcases, but few people think of washing the duvet and pillows underneath. Which is strange given the average Brit spends the equivalent of 96 days every year lying in bed, so we ought to keep our covers as clean and cosy as possible.
But it's not just about comfort. Duvets collect dust, sweat and allergens that make regular washing essential to stay healthy. So we asked exactly how often we should be washing our bedding.
