Thousands of jellyfish-like creatures known as By-the-Wind Sailors have washed up along the beaches of Southern .Marine biologists are advising beachgoers to look, but not to touch Velella velella because they have tentacles which can leave a small sting, although they are not considered to be dangerous to humans.The creatures have a sail on their tops which allow them to be blown across the ocean - leaving them at the mercy of currents and winds.
