Generation Z, often nicknamed 'digital natives', are facing a sobering reality as a recent study has unveiled that three-quarters would face a mental breakdown if confronted with an unexpected £300 expense.Despite claims of financial knowledge, 40% of individuals aged 16 to 24 experience heightened anxiety, stress or worry after paying basic expenses like rent, according to financial wellbeing membership RiseUp.The findings from RiseUp's 'Riding the payday wave: Navigating the highs and lows of our money' - based on results from a survey of 2,027 adults conducted in March 2024 by Censuswide - shed light on the pervasive feelings of shame and financial pressure experienced by young adults.
