They say a picture tells a thousand words. But the photograph of Deise Moura and her mother-in-law taken four years ago provides enough material for an entire novel – one that Agatha Christie would be proud of.

It shows the 42-year-old accountant with her husband Diego, 39, on one side and, on the other, his parents Zeli and Paulo Dos Anjos. In the middle stands Deise and Diego's young son, while in the foreground is a cake.
