Will Hurd, said Saturday that he was 'fully expecting' when he told a ballroom full of Republicans that former President is running for president to 'stay out of prison.' Hurd, 45, announced his presidential run late last month, and was among the 13 candidates to appear at Friday night's Republican Party of Iowa's Lincoln Dinner in Des Moines. The ex-Texas rep distinguished himself by being the only candidate to get jeered at, telling the angered audience that the 'truth' about Trump was 'hard' before walking offstage, a minute and a half before his 10-minute timeslot was done.
