Washington lawmakers gathered at the National Cathedral today for a memorial service honoring , but none of the living former presidents who were invited chose to attend. Trump, Obama, Bush, Clinton and Carter were all invited to the service after missing out on invitations to the Queen's State Funeral in earlier this week along with the former leaders of other nations. While Carter, 97, was never expected to attend Wednesday's service in Washington, the presence of the other four living former presidents was hoped for. It's unclear why none chose to be there.
