Two Brooklyn men who were wrongly jailed for killing an elderly European tourist during a violent mugging on New Year's Day have finally been exonerated.Eric Smokes, who was 19 when he was arrested, and his best friend David Warren, who was 16, were accused of murdering 71-year-old Frenchman Jean Casse in 1987. Thugs viciously accosted Casse near Times Square minutes after the ball drop on New Year's Eve. He died after falling and hitting his head on the ground.
