A sheriff condemned a judge's decision to allow an alleged drunk female driver to be released on bail after she hit and killed an off-duty deputy and was charged with manslaughter. Harris County Texas Sheriff's Office Sgt. Ramon Gutierrez, 45, was killed on Monday after he was struck by a suspected drunk driver who hit him and then speed off. Lavilla Spry, 40, was arrested for the police killing and charged with intoxication manslaughter of a peace officer, failure to stop and render aid resulting in death and evading in a motor vehicle. She has since been released on a $275,000 bail.
