US admitted Russian group at the border under secret deal with Mexico

A group of Russians who left the Russian Federation following their country's have been secretly allowed to cross the U.S. southern border with , despite tens of thousands of other asylum seekers being turned away.

According to a deal was done between Mexican and U.S. authorities which would see the party of about three dozen were escorted across the border under cover of darkness.

It's believed 35 individuals with Russian citizenship were held briefly in a detention center for a couple of days on the American side, before being allowed to enter the country to live freely while awaiting their immigration hearings, likely in several months from now.
