A United States appeals court has paused an earlier order that prevented government agencies from contacting social media companies to influence the content they publish.The New Orleans-based Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals lifted the ban on Friday, until an appeal lodged by the administration of President Joe Biden can be adjudicated.The decision was prompted by a July 4 ruling from a federal judge in Louisiana, barring the administration from approaching tech companies for “the purpose of urging, encouraging, pressuring, or inducing in any manner the removal, deletion, suppression or reduction of content”.
