One of Joaquín '' Guzmán's sons has been sanctioned in connection with his siblings' Los Chapitos network and the organization's trafficking of illicit fentanyl and other deadly drugs' into the United States.Joaquín Guzmán López allegedly works hand-in-hand with his three brothers, Iván Guzmán Salazar, Jesús Guzmán Salazar and Ovidio Guzmán López and is tasked with keeping a close eye on many of the Los Chapitos dealings, the United States Department of Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control said in a statement Tuesday.A powerful faction of their father's Sinaloa Cartel, the group is said to have risen to power after the notorious kingpin was arrested in in 2016 and then extradited to the United States in 2017. A federal New York court found him guilty in February 2019 and sentenced him to life in prison in July 2019.
