The United States economy is still awash in jobs, government data showed on Wednesday, but fewer Americans are telling their bosses “I quit.”The latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) from the US Department of Labor showed job openings rose by 431,000 in October to 11 million – within a hair’s breadth of the all-time high of 11.1 million reached in July.But the number of Americans quitting their jobs fell by just over 200,000 in October to 4.2 million – pulling that metric down from its all-time high reached in September.
