Westfield Bondi Junction stabbing hero tells how he tried to save baby

A hero who rushed to help a mother and nine-month-old baby after they were stabbed by a knifeman at Westfield Bondi Junction has told how he desperately worked to keep the infant alive using store clothes.

A major incident shopping centre in 's eastern suburbs just before 4pm on Saturday afternoon when a knifeman went on a rampage, stabbing eight people - including a child.

Five innocent shoppers were killed before the killer - who wore a Kangaroos Australian Rugby League jersey - was shot dead by a female police inspector who went in alone to confront him.
