A mother who lost 100 pounds and in one year has opened up about how 'hiding the scale' and focusing on 'non-scale victories' helped her stay motivated. Melissa Paluch, 44, from New York, for most of her adult life and weighed 275 pounds at her heaviest. She avoided seeing a doctor for three years because she didn't want to see the number on the scale.
