Asbury's new, super-fancy apartments

The building will be move-in ready by the summer of 2019, an iStar spokeswoman said Wednesday.

“With Asbury Ocean Club, we’re striking a beautiful balance that’s true to oceanfront living – luxurious without being pretentious, relaxed yet chic - the elegance of timeless materials in a modern and contemporary setting," Anda Andrei, iStar's creative lead and design director in Asbury Park, said in a release. "It’s different from anything in the region, the building feels like it belongs on this beach.”

The development will have one-, two- and three-bedroom units that each will have floor-to-ceiling windows and wraparound terraces overlooking the ocean.

“We took on a beach house vernacular that’s open, light and airy, and we kept materials simple— concrete and glass with wood accents,” Gary Handel, principal of Handel Architects, said in the release. “Balconies extend out to accentuate the horizontal quality of the views. We then added a gentle curvature to the building to reflect the shoreline.”

Two-bedroom units start at just over $1 million and a three-bedroom starts at $1.6 million.

The building will also have two penthouses that have a larger living space than the other units and include rooftop terraces with an outdoor kitchen, according to the release.

The penthouses are listed for $6 million, according to Bloomberg.

Each unit's kitchen will have high-end appliances and white lacquered-custom Italian cabinetry, according to the release, and there are "wide-plank, bleached white oak" hardwood floors throughout.
