had plans to speak with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson Monday amid a multinational scramble by NATO allies to try to head off a Russian invasion of Ukraine that U.S. officials say could happen at any time.
Johnson said Monday he had would soon be speaking to 'various leaders, including Joe Biden, very soon.' Biden spoke Sunday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a day after a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin – which still left the administration guessing on if and whether Putin would invade Ukraine.
White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has been briefing lawmakers in the House and Senate about the administration's assessment of the tense situation.
