Russian President discussed a 'strategic partnership' with in the international arena in a phone call with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, the Kremlin has revealed.
The two leaders reaffirmed their 'commitment to strengthen bilateral relations', just days after fears were raised that would deploy their military to Cuba and Venezuela if tensions with the US over escalated.
It comes against the backdrop of Russia's build-up of 100,000 troops, as well as tanks and missiles, on its border with Ukraine, which has sparked fears of a war in Europe and a standoff between East and West.
