Philadelphia police will GREASE poles to stop fans from climbing them

The city of Philadelphia is preparing for the aftermath of a potential Eagles victory in Sunday's NFC Championship and that includes the greasing of light poles in the hope of detering climbers.

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said in a statement that Philadelphians are encouraged to celebrate 'safely and responsibly.'

The statement from the mayor's office said the Philadelphia Police Department 'will institute the practice of greasing poles as a deterrent for climbing poles and light fixtures.'
