The Transport Security Administration (TSA) has spent $18.6 million on a new screening system to go into effect in January, which will reduce the number of travelers being flagged as suspicious 'in sensitive areas'.
The money, approved on March 9 as part of the FY2022 Omnibus Appropriations fund, has been spent to upgrade the automated screening systems at airports.
The TSA says such measures will , and is part of the work of the Inclusion Action Committee, launched by the Trump administration in August 2020.
