All states across the US are seeing COVID-19 cases decline or stabilize following a surge fueled by the Omicron variant, the latest data shows.
The number of new infections nationwide has plunged 61 percent since peaking less than a month ago, according to federal data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Daily cases were averaging more than 800,000 at the height of the Omicron surge on Jan. 15. Now, cases are averaging just over 313,000 per day, the data shows.
