The image, taken in New York's Times Square, shows the moment a solider grabbed a nurse - who he did not know - and kissed her, as part of celebrations to celebrate Victory over .
It was immortalised on film by photojournalist Alfred Eisenstaedt who snapped the image for Life Magazine.
