Condé Nast will halt the distribution of Vogue Russia and its other publications in the country in opposition to a 'rise in censorship' and the Kremlin's , which the company's Chief Executive characterized as 'senseless.'
At least 90% of Condé Nast's employees will be laid off as a result of the decision.
The iconic fashion brand long headed by Anna Wintour permanently terminated its franchise agreement with Condé Nast Russia on March 8, halting the printing of Vogue, GQ, GQ Style, Tatler, Glamour, Glamour Style Book and Architectural Digest - which combined reach more than 21 million readers in the country, the company said.
