The 's campaign arm circulated new polling on abortion and messaging directives to candidates allowing them to go on the attack for abortion, but telling them to focus on being 'compassionate, consensus builders.'
The polling deck put together by OnMessage Inc. hardly mentions Roe v. Wade - other polling suggests that overturning the landmark 1973 case is unpopular with Americans. But it does focus on proclamations like 'unelected federal judges should not make laws' and states should be able to 'implement reasonable restrictions.'
National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) chairman Sen. Rick Scott said in a statement to DailyMail.com that the NRSC had been conducting polling and focus groups on abortion for 'the last few months' to give candidates ammunition for the midterms.
